Cambridge Half Marathon 2026
Video Production
Capturing the energy of 15,000 runners across one of the UK’s most iconic city races
The Brief
The Cambridge Half Marathon is one of the biggest running events in East Anglia, bringing thousands of runners, supporters and volunteers into the heart of Cambridge.
For the 2026 event, I was brought in via Clark Creative to lead the video production, capturing the scale, atmosphere and emotion of race day.
The goal was to create a high-impact event film that showed the Cambridge Half Marathon at its best: the city, the runners, the crowd energy, the volunteers and the emotional journey from start line to finish line.
We also create 18 reels that could be posted for the lead up of the next event.
The final content needed to work across multiple platforms, including website, social media and future event promotion.

The Approach
Filming the Cambridge Half Marathon meant capturing a fast-moving event across an entire city, with around 15,000 runners, supporters, volunteers and multiple key locations.
The challenge was making sure the coverage felt planned, cinematic and human, rather than just a collection of race-day clips.
With a team spread across the route, every person needed to know where to be, what to capture and how their footage would contribute to the final story.
The goal was simple: make viewers feel the energy, emotion and scale of the event.
The Approach
To properly capture the event,
I led a team of nine creatives, including seven videographers and two drone operators.
We planned coverage across key points of the route, using a mix of drones, handheld cameras, gimbals and POV-style filming to make the viewer feel part of the race.
The focus was not just on showing the event, but on making people feel it.
The Result
The final hero film delivered a cinematic, energetic and human story of the Cambridge Half Marathon, showcasing both the scale of the event and the personal moments within it.
From early morning anticipation to finish line emotion, the film was designed to help promote future events, increase engagement and give runners something they could proudly share.
Deliverables included
A hero highlight film
Feature reels for campaign use
Short-form vertical content
A wide range of footage capturing runners, spectators, volunteers and the city of Cambridge
